What do you need?
- Rit Dyes (Duh, Of course..)
- Rit Colour Stay Liquid Dye Fixative
- Sole Easy Pour Squeeze Bottle
- Clothing/Fabric of Your Choice
- Rubber Bands
- Bucket (optional)
- Wire Rack (optional)
STEP 1
Lay out your fabric/clothing on a flat surface. Begin to pinch the middle with
your fingers and spiral the fabric in circles. Once you can not spiral the fabric
anymore, hold it in place.
STEP 2
Use as many rubber bands as it requires to secure the fabric/clothing in place,
without it adjusting easily. We recommend between 3-5 for most sizes.
STEP 3
Fill each Sole Easy Pour Squeeze Bottle with 2 parts warm water and 1 part
Rit Dye colour of your choice. Adjust ratio to increase/decrease pigmentation
and darkness. We recommend using 3-4 colours for your tie-dye project.
STEP 4
Divide your fabric into equal sections depending on the amount of colours you
have selected for the project. Begin to pour each colour into the selected
quadrants. Once satisfied, flip over fabric/clothing and repeat step.
STEP 5
Mix 1 part warm water & 1 part Rit Colour Stay Liquid Dye Fixative into a
Sole Easy Pour Squeeze Bottle. Pour this dye fixative evenly all over both sides
of the fabric/clothing.
STEP 6
Place fabric into a microwave safe container and microwave for 1 minute.
STEP 7
Wash your fabric in a cold cycle with detergent.
STEP 8
Show off your new tie-dye project on Instagram using #soledye for a chance to
be featured on Instagram!
